Goalie Masterclass
End to End Training Program for Hockey Goalies
BECOME A BETTER GOALIE, ONE PUCK AT A TIME.
Chapter 1: Fundamental Skills
Hockey goalies will master the essential skills that form the backbone of strong, consistent play. Covering stance, positioning, and movement, these videos focus on the foundational techniques goalies need to control their crease and react to any play with confidence. By honing balance, body alignment, and puck-tracking skills, goalies will learn to stay square to the shooter, control rebounds, and maximize net coverage.
Chapter 2: On-Ice Drills
High-impact on-ice drills designed to build a goalie’s strength, speed, and situational awareness. Focusing on live-action scenarios, each drill is crafted to improve lateral movement, reaction time, and puck-handling under pressure. Goalies will work through exercises that simulate game-like conditions, reinforcing positioning, tracking, and controlled saves in dynamic situations.
Chapter 3: Mental Development
Through strategies for maintaining focus, managing in-game stress, and cultivating a winning mindset, this series aims to help goalies stay composed and confident, even in high-pressure moments. Exercises on visualization, goal-setting, and self-assessment empower goalies to develop a stronger inner game, turning mistakes into learning opportunities and setbacks into motivation.
Chapter 4: Off-Ice Hand-Eye
Off-ice drills sharpen a goalie’s hand-eye coordination, enhancing their reflexes and reaction speed. These exercises are specifically designed to improve tracking skills, catching ability, and quick response to fast-moving objects. With a mix of ball drills, visual training, and reflex work, goalies will develop the precision and agility needed to make saves under pressure.
Chapter 5: Goalie Game IQ
Through breakdowns of game scenarios, positioning tactics, and situational awareness exercises, this series will teach goalies how to analyze plays, communicate effectively with teammates, and make smarter decisions under pressure. By building a strong game IQ, goalies will be better equipped to anticipate threats, control the pace of play, and adapt their positioning to maximize coverage.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
MEET YOUR TEACHER
Hello fellow goalies!
My name is Stefano Cantali, also known as MrHeffyy, and I will be your instructor.
As a former NCAA DI & Pro goalie, I faced many ups & downs in my hockey career. Upon suffering a career ending knee injury, I turned to coaching and have been doing so for the last 5 years.
I designed this online training program for goalies who lacked proper guidance on the basic principles of being a hockey goalie.
Not only is playing goalie difficult, it is also very expensive. I hope, with the tools provided in this course, you become a better goalie while also saving some money in the process.
See you in the course!
Become a better goalie & learn the basics of goaltending at your own pace...

Chapter 1: Fundamentals Skills for Elite Goaltending
-
Lesson 1: The Proper Stance
This stance is the foundation of all the other movements and making a great save.
-
Lesson 2: Butterfly
The butterfly position: a cornerstone for any successful hockey goalie. You'll learn the fundamentals of this stance, including proper leg positioning, pad angles, and upper body posture to maximize coverage and minimize scoring opportunities.
-
Lesson 3: Blocker & Glove Saves
When making a blocker and glove save, you need to lean into the puck to make a controlled save and know where the rebound is going to be. This will make you more consistent and coaches will love it!
-
Lesson 4: How to Get Back Up
Falling on your back and stomach happens a lot in a game and it isn't the end of the world. Just make sure your eyes stay on the puck and you get up as fast as you can.
-
Lesson 5: Forward C Cut
The forward C-cut is essential for learning how to skate as a goalie.
-
Lesson 6: Backward C Cut
The backward c-cut is used the most in a game so that you can back up with the play and keep a good distance and depth.
-
Lesson 7: Behind the Net
Behind the net is one of the harder plays to read as you are looking over your shoulder and while you move your head you risk losing the play. There are 4 areas to look through.
-
Lesson 8: Playing the Puck
This skill is what makes an elite goalie so elite. Being able to help on defense get the puck out or make a huge pass for a breakaway is something coaches love.
-
Lesson 9: Shuffles
This is a movement that is used to stay on your feet and square to the puck using a small distance movement. It is not meant for long distances but rather short and hard pushed to stay ready for the shot.
-
-
Lesson 10: Power Push
When you already made a save and need to make a second one or need to adjust from your knees is when you use the power push. It is a lateral movement from the floor for adjustments and rebound saves!
-
Lesson 11: Lateral Release
The lateral release is a very advanced movement that high-end goalies use to stay on their feet as long as possible to make a controlled save. Goalies who stay up longer end up square and in more control to make the proper save.
-
Lesson 12: T-Push
The T-push is ideal for long movements that need to be completed quickly and efficiently. Use it to beat the pass standing up and make a huge save!
-
Lesson 13: Screens
How to handle screens. When you get to the higher levels screen plays happen every single game and many times a game, so you need to get good at these.
-
Lesson 14: Butterfly Slides
The butterfly slide is used to move laterally from your feet to your knees to make a save right on time. This is for when a pass is made from high to low only.
-
Lesson 15: Low Angle Shots
Low shots are difficult to play, there are many different options: Overlap, VH, RVH & Panda.
-
Lesson 16: Depth Control
-
Lesson 17: Breakaways
